The Shipping Forecast:
Brings together an eclectic array of Liverpool's creative best, as well as presenting an impressive roster of some of the UK's most talked about new bands and edgy DJs, The Shipping Forecast promises to be an exciting new offer for Liverpool's already thriving social and live music circuit, and has been developed by the creative team behind modern institution The Lock Tavern in Camden, London.
Featuring a wide and irregular array of live music events, DJ nights, and everything in between, from day time record fairs and vintage clothing swaps, to pub quizzes, tasty home-cooked food and a huge selection of drinks - The Shipping Forecast will be a pioneering social space where art meets music, and pub meets club, all under the one roof.
Expect to see innovative line-ups across the two floors, overseen by Liverpool's own renowned party organiser and promoters Richard McGinnis & Lewis Boardman, from the acclaimed club night Chibuku who will be directing the creative programme. Chibuku has achieved iconic status in its ten year lifespan, pulling in DJs from Gilles Peterson and Erol Alkan, to John Peel and Soulwax.
The opening of The Shipping Forecast marks the first joint venture between Chibuku and Fiveeightzero. The Liverpool site will be in addition to Fiveeightzero's existing network of independent music venues, which currently also include Sheffield, Reading, Bristol, Bournemouth and Leeds, each with their own unique atmosphere and feel, but all representing a commitment to bringing together the best in art, music and creative talent both nationally and locally, in a venue with great food and drink that never fails to stand out from the crowd.
