Whitstable Oyster Festival has teamed up with Demelza House to raise funds for the charity’s amazing work in the South East. The first ever WOF Charity Feast will be held in The Shuck on the West Quay of the Harbour on the 2nd August at 1pm. For a seat at the banquet table, tickets are essential and are priced at £50 per head or £65 per head with a selection of wines chosen by Clive Barlow MW.
This is a unique opportunity to enjoy food prepared and served by 2014’s Great British Menu winner, Adam Simmonds. Named by the Good Food Guide as one of the decades ‘chefs to watch’, Adam has built a remarkable reputation leading some of Britain’s finest kitchens.
With music from The Tunes and our MC and Sommelier Clive Barlow MW on hand to talk about the food and wine, this is a perfect afternoon in a really special location overlooking Whitstable Harbour supporting an amazing cause.
Every day Demelza Hospice Care for Children ‘add life to days when days cannot be added to life’ providing care and support for over 800 children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families, relying almost entirely on donations and fundraising to reach the £10 million required annually to continue making a difference.
The charity, which has been running for more than 15 years, offers respite, symptom control, end- of-life care and bereavement support for families with children who are either life-limited or life- threatened or suffer from conditions which mean they need a lot of specialist care.
