Pat lyons & The Sins Tickets

Fronted by Singer/Songwriter Pat Lyons, 'Pat Lyons & The Sins’ formed in late 2009 in Manchester. The band plays an eclectic blend of indie, rock and roll, blues and folk. The band themselves however would be hard pressed to give any definitive definition of what they sound like and would prefer to carve out their own musical niche not restricted by the limits of any particular genre.

Pat Lyons is very much in the acoustic troubadour mould- with songs that conjure anything from foreign hideaway bars to damp English streets; of life, loss, hope & idleness. With his own distinctive vocal style- and acoustic guitar playing, Lyons’ writes and sings the songs of The Sins- inspired by the music of Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Oasis to name but a few. When playing with The Sins these songs take on a new life- Mick James, the drummer of The Sins drives the songs with an inimitable swagger; employing a versatile repertoire of beats to take in everything you could ever squeeze out of a drum; the swirling guitar sound of Matt Ellis, The Sins lead guitarist- has a distinctive sound that adds a warmth to The Sins sound, and the bassist Mike Fahy drives the songs with intricate and melodic bass lines.

The band as of Spring 2012 are currently recording their first album, titled Friday Night Confessions At Castro Amsterdam. The band decided to record the album themselves using a bedroom as a makeshift recording studio. Citing a desire to experiment more with the songs in a way they could not do live and to not be restricted by expensive studio time that an unsigned band can ill afford, the band have set about trying to faithfully reproduce their musical vision. Filled with acoustic and vocal harmonies, swirling guitars, bongos, mandolins, harmonicas and keys, the band want to create a record a little bit different from what is out there at the moment.
