Madness – one of the most successful British bands of all time – will perform outdoors in the heart of Vivary Park on Friday 12th July.
Joining them for the evening is the infamous rock band, Lightning Seeds, fronted by Ian Broudie. It will be one of just a handful of live shows for the band this year, as it marks the 25th anniversary of its Jollification album, which featured hits including Change, Lucky You, Marvellous and Perfect. Its fourth album, Dizzy Heights also secured success for the band, but it was its single Three Lions, a collaboration with David Baddiel and Frank Skinner, which was its first number one hit, reaching the top spot in 1996, 1998 and more recently, in 2018.
Speaking about the show, Ian Broudie, who is currently writing new music for Lightning Seeds, said:
“Performing outdoors always gives the show a brilliant atmosphere, so we can’t wait to get to Vivary Park in July, and open for the legendary Madness.”
Also performing is the Grammy nominated and two-time Ivor Novello award-winning lyricist, Chris Difford. He will open the show ahead of Lightning Seeds, performing a catalogue of hits, such as Cool For Cars, Up the Junction and Tempted, from his time as the founding member of Squeeze.
