Scottish sensation Skerryvore have announced that they will be returning to the Highland capital for a festive concert this December, after the massive success of their show last year!
LCC Live, organisers of Live in the City, kicked off last year’s Christmas concert series with the celtic-rock group, and they’ll be making their return to the Inverness Leisure Centre on Friday 6th December 2024 for another energetic concert filled with all of their iconic hits!
Skerryvore has been on a momentous journey since the group was founded in 2005 on the westerly island of Tiree, from their early days in Scottish west coast halls and bars, to festival crowds in the USA, Canada, Australia and throughout the UK and Europe.
The three-time winners of Scotland’s ‘Live Act of the Year' award have had an eventful time recently, following their latest album release in 2023 which went to number 1 in both the Official Scottish Album and UK Folk Albums charts, and entered the top 40 in the Official UK Charts. Three singles from the album, named ‘Tempus’, all featured on the BBC Radio 2 new music playlist.
With a mix of bagpipes, fiddles, accordions, and whistles, alongside guitar and vocals, underpinned by driving bass, drums and keys, Skerryvore represent the best in contemporary Scottish traditional music. Their most popular hit 'Take My Hand’ is a fan favourite with many, along with tunes ‘You & I' and ‘Live Forever’.
The group will be joined by a special guest on the night of their Inverness Leisure Centre concert.
