Friday 6th December - Skerryvore

Scottish sensation Skerryvore have announced that they will be returning to the Highland capital for a festive concert this December, after the massive success of their show last year!

LCC Live, organisers of Live in the City, kicked off last year’s Christmas concert series with the celtic-rock group, and they’ll be making their return to the Inverness Leisure Centre on Friday 6th December 2024 for another energetic concert filled with all of their iconic hits!

Skerryvore has been on a momentous journey since the group was founded in 2005 on the westerly island of Tiree, from their early days in Scottish west coast halls and bars, to festival crowds in the USA, Canada, Australia and throughout the UK and Europe.

The three-time winners of Scotland’s ‘Live Act of the Year' award have had an eventful time recently, following their latest album release in 2023 which went to number 1 in both the Official Scottish Album and UK Folk Albums charts, and entered the top 40 in the Official UK Charts. Three singles from the album, named ‘Tempus’, all featured on the BBC Radio 2 new music playlist.

With a mix of bagpipes, fiddles, accordions, and whistles, alongside guitar and vocals, underpinned by driving bass, drums and keys, Skerryvore represent the best in contemporary Scottish traditional music. Their most popular hit 'Take My Hand’ is a fan favourite with many, along with tunes ‘You & I' and ‘Live Forever’.

The group will be joined by a special guest on the night of their Inverness Leisure Centre concert.

Saturday 7th December - Callum Beattie

CALLUM BEATTIE ANNOUNCES HIGHLAND FESTIVE CONCERT

Callum Beattie has announced his return to the Highland Capital in December of this year.

The Edinburgh-born singer/songwriter will play at the Inverness Leisure Centre on Saturday 7th December as part of the ‘Live in the City’ festive weekend, following Callum’s largest headline Highland concert at the same venue in 2023 which sold out in just a matter of weeks. There must be something about a Highland crowd that keeps him coming back!

It has been a jam-packed few years for Callum Beattie - following on from his sold-out headline Scottish tour in 2021, Callum then toured the UK until summer of 2022 as support for Amy Macdonald.

Callum’s debut album ‘People Like Us’ was released in 2021 and reached number 1 in The Official Scottish Album Chart, number 7 in The Official UK Album Sales Charts and was BBC Radio 2’s Album of the Week. His track ‘Salamander Street’ is arguably one of Callum’s most well-known hits from this album. His latest album ‘Vandals’ was released back in March of 2023, with popular track ‘Heart Stops Beating’ catapulting onto the airwaves shortly after.

Callum Beattie is looking forward to the performance, commenting; “After an amazing show and weekend at Belladrum, I can’t wait to come back to the Highlands for another headline show with you all. Last year sold out in record time, which was amazing to see. Can’t wait to do it all again Inverness!”

Sunday 8th December - Ministry of Sound Ibiza Anthems

The world’s biggest dance brand, Ministry of Sound, is making their return to the Highland capital but with a brand new show.

‘Ministry of Sound Ibiza Anthems with Ellie Sax & Friends’ is fresh for 2024, and will make it’s debut at the Inverness Leisure Centre on the 8th of December as part of the Live in the City concert series.

Ministry of Sound is returning to the Highland capital by popular demand following their massive classical summer show at the Big Top Bught Park, where Ellie Sax supported in warming up the crowd with her infectious energy. Ellie is one of the world’s most prominent dance music saxophonists, performing around the world at festivals, world-famous clubs and exclusive private events.

The December show will take concert goers on a journey through a day in the life of the party island of Ibiza, from pool parties to sunset lounges, and ending up in the iconic superclubs everyone knows and loves. Ministry of Sound is truly bringing the balearic beats to the Highlands this winter, no passport or airport check-in required!

Seven of the best musicians, DJs and singers will be joining Ellie Sax, all coming together live on stage to reimagine some of the greatest dance records, all of which exploded on the ‘white Isle’ of Ibiza. They’ll be bringing to life some favorite anthems, including tracks from Faithless, Eric Prydz, Becky Hill, The Shapeshifters, Daft Punk, Robin S, Fisher and more!
