LIFE & The Tapestry Tickets

LIFE

Fresh from a headline January tour and being named on Radio 1’s best of BBC Introducing list Hull punks LIFE announce new single ‘Popular Music’, their follow up to 2015’s debut EP ‘I Knew I Was a Rat’. Collaborating again with Grammy winning producer Ian Dowling (recent producer of Bombay Bicycle Club, Wavves and The Orwells), the band have made a new record that slams head on into the dirty girth of modern day, popular culture, whilst retaining a fair measure of its own raucous pop sensibility. Popular Music dropped just two weeks ago and has already amassed multiple plays from Steve Lamacq, the band bringing the 6 Music DJ to their hometown for a sell-out show, as well as spot plays on Radio 1 from Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart.

The Tapestry

The Tapestry are all about the music.
They’re not about where they’re from (Manchester), or whether they’re working class or posh twats (but put it this way, none of them are called Orlando, Hugo, Felicity or Jemima), or their music industry contacts (they haven’t got any), or how long they’ve been together (“ages”).
They’re about the music, which lead singer Liam Faherty describes – with tongue placed firmly in cheek – as "angular, post punk, landfill indie pop". Bassist Katy Baker describes their sound in simpler terms: “Two guitars. Drums. Bass. No bullshit.”
Gaz Coombes reckons they’re alright, and Liam Gallagher thinks they have "fucking tunes".
YouTube comments are short and sweet, like The Tapestry’s songs: ‘shit hot tune’; ‘top tune’; ‘quality’.
The Tapestry’s steadily growing fanbase are fanatics – see them live and you’ll see why.
