Label Love Fundraiser – the Manchester Leg featuring live sets from THE NARROWS / NINETAILS / TROJAN HORSE / TRIBAL FIGHTERS / PSYCHO & PLASTIC and DJ sets from ECHOESANDDUST / GHOSTING SEASON
Ok, so unless you’ve had your head in the sand over the past couple of months, you’ll have noticed that a while back a bunch of kids decided to burn down a bunch of buildings. We’re not getting into the social and political implications now; rather we’re concerned with a single one that was affected- the PIAS warehouse in Enfield.
When it was destroyed, along with several hundred thousand records, it looked like many independent labels, faced with a cash squeeze and no stock, would have to close. Luckily that wasn’t the case, for Label Love was there to support them and raise awareness for the need of fans to get behind them in their hour of need.
The organisers of Label Love say that they’ve “been overwhelmed by the amount of support received, not just from the music industry and fans in the UK but also in Europe, USA and Japan.” Shows have been planned in “London as well as Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Oxford, Tokyo & Charlottesville”- but we all know that the Manchester event will be the best, because we’re going to be there to make it just that!
Playing on an eclectic line-up are: The Narrows, fresh from a BBC 6 Session and quickly becoming the greatest undiscovered gem of Manchester’s underground scene; Trojan Horse, the greatest prog band to grace a Manchester stage since Oceansize, and Ninetails, the until-recently-unknown math-pop band that literally everybody seems to be talking about.
