One of Britain’s most loved singers, Russell Watson, will take to the stage for a series of outdoor concerts this summer, set to the backdrop of some of the country’s most stunning and picturesque outdoor venues, as part of the Heritage Live Concert Series.

The Last Night of The Proms with Russell Watson shows will feature the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, as well as composer arranger and producer Mike Moran, coloratura soprano Christina Johnston, and very special guests The NHS Choir (Ardingly and Englefield) and The NHS Chorus-19 (Audley End only).

Watson will perform songs from across his 25 year career, from much loved standards such as Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Swing Low, through to affirming and uplifting showstoppers including You Raise Me Up and Bring Him Home, alongside a very special Phantom Of The Opera medley.

The shows will take place at the South of England Showground in West Sussex on Sunday 18th July 2021, the Englefield Estate in Berkshire on Sunday 25th July 2021, and Audley End House & Gardens in Essex on Sunday 15th August 2021.

£1 from every ticket sold for the event will be donated towards the NHS Charities Together, the collective representing, supporting and championing the work of the NHS’ official charities.

Russell Watson is one of the world’s most popular classical singers, once described by the New York Times as a performer ‘who sings like Pavarotti and entertains the audience like Frank Sinatra’.

His debut album The Voice saw him hold the top spot in the charts for an unprecedented 52 weeks – whilst at the same time topping the charts in the USA, making him the first British male artiste to attain a simultaneous transatlantic number one. The Voice subsequently became the first and only album by a UK classical artiste to achieve 1,000,000 sales.

Russell’s incredible career has seen him perform for some of the world’s leading figures – from Presidents to Popes, and Emperors to Queens, including HM The Queen, the late Pope John Paul II, former US Presidents Bill Clinton, George W Bush and Barack Obama; and the Emperor of Japan.

With his collaborative albums with Aled Jones, as well as last year’s compilation album ‘20’, Russell continues to achieve remarkable successes in the charts, as well as selling out venues all over the UK and indeed the world.

Very special guests for the summer show will be The NHS Choir at the and The NHS Chorus-19.

The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Voices Choir were first seen on Gareth Malone's BBC2 show, Sing While You Work, where they were narrowly beaten in the final. Since then they have gone from strength-to-strength.

The choir rode an overwhelming wave of support from the public and the media as they landed the much coveted Christmas No.1. spot in the official UK chart in 2015 with their single A Bridge Over You, alongside kind words from Justin Bieber who they beat in the chart race.

Following this success, the choir recorded their debut album Something Inside So Strong, as well as performing at prestigious events and venues including the FA Cup Final, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.

Last year the choir recorded a new version of Justin Bieber’s song Holy with Bieber himself, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, and performed alongside Michael Ball and Captain Sir Tom Moore for a recording of You’ll Never Walk Alone, with profits going towards the NHS Charities Together

The NHS Chorus-19 was set up to bolster morale through song for current and former NHS staff through the Covid-19 crisis. The virtual choir, founded by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, spread positive and informative messages alongside hitting the headlines for their versions of Somewhere Over The Rainbow and Come On Eileen last year.
