We are proud to announce the release of our second full length album that is Sex in the Seventh Circle.
Significant to us on many different levels, it is an album that has been over three years in the making. As a group and as a sound, Hang the Bastard has undergone many a mutation which has ultimately come to produce a new creative partnership and a solid musical identity.
Two years ago, we were a band in upheaval; our longstanding vocalist left the group to pursue new ventures and after employing a new frontman unsuccessfully, we were a band on the rocks.
Determined to persevere with the thing that we cared so much about, we did some hiring from within. Our bass player Tomas Hubbard had previously made his vocal talents known to us on previous records, reminiscent of the late Iron Monkey vocalist Johnny Morrow, of who we’re all huge fans. It made sense to appoint Tomas as the new frontman of Hang the Bastard, with the inclusion of Joe Nally filling the vacant position on bass.
Since these pivotal changes what quickly developed was a strong creative dynamic, which has allowed us to write the album we have always wanted to write. Out of such adversity a phoenix has risen in the form of this full length, and we hope it sends you on as much of an emotional rollercoaster listening to it as it did us making it!
