A Day of Gypsy Swing Music. The best musicians in the world who play in the style of Django Reindhart and Stephane Grappelli will be in concert at 53 Degrees. They play with dazzling speed and extraordinary beauty in a style of music that has influenced generations of musicians, from Les Paul to George Harrison. Through the day, there will be jams and masterclasses at the Legacy Hotel, but the highlight will be an intimate concert with Lollo Meier, Fapy Lafertin and Tcha Limberger -- three of the finest gypsy musicians in the world, each one informed by an authentic background in the music and culture of Django Reinhardt. The concert will be followed by a Twilight Jam, all musicians welcome.
Djangology 2012 is a day of gypsy swing music to be held on the 19th May in Preston. Celebrating the music of Django Reindhart will be some of the finest musicians in the gypsy swing tradition, among them Fapy Lafertin, Lollo Meier, Tcha Limberger and Samuel C. Lees.
There will be a Masterclass with Samuel C. Lees and free Jams through the day. The highlight of Djangology will be a late afternoon concert with the Fapy Lafertin, Lollo Meier and Tcha Limberger Quintet.
