Dawn of the Light Tickets

A 45-minute film produced by the Bahá’í International Community to mark the Bicentenary of the Birth of the Báb “the Gate”, 1819-1850, the Herald of the Bahá’í Faith.

A young man from Shíráz, Persia, the Báb announced in May 1844 at the age of twenty-five, that He was the bearer of a message destined to transform humanity’s spiritual life and that His mission was to prepare the way for the advent of One greater than Himself, Whose mission would be to inaugurate an era of peace and justice.

No less than twenty thousand of His followers were put to death with such barbarous cruelty as to evoke the warm sympathy and the unqualified admiration of diplomats, travellers and scholars. Writers as diverse as Edward Granville Browne, George Curzon, Joseph Arthur de Gobineau, Ernest Renan, Aleksandr Tumanskiy, A.L.M. Nicolas, Viktor Rosen, Clement Huart, Matthew Arnold and Leo Tolstoy were affected by the Báb’s spiritual drama that had unfolded in Persia during the nineteenth century.

Join us as we follow the film individuals from different continents relating their own personal journeys of search and their discovery about this spiritual drama with its world-wide impacts.

Refreshments: Tea/coffee and biscuits
