Annual comedy night @ The Corn Exchange, Devizes, Wiltshire.
2018 Line Up: DJ Ivan Brackenbury, Tom Lucy, Ian D Montfort + Keith Farnan.
DJ Ivan Brackenbury
Inept hospital radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury is the creation of Tom Binns, a former breakfast radio host on London’s XFM as well as a comedian in his own right.
As himself, Binns won the Jongleurs new act of the year, piloted his own chat show on Five called Tom Binns Munchies, and was one of the presenters on Channel 4 breakfast show RI:SE. He’s also appeared on Knowing Me Knowing Yule With Alan Partridge, Friday Night Armistice and Fist Of Fun as a comic actor.
He created Brakenbury relatively early in his career, and the character appeared on Radio 1, Virgin and GLR, before being rested as Binns developed his own radio career, which included landing XFM with a then-record £50,000 fine for talking about bestiality on air.
However, Brakenbury was resurrected for the Edinburgh Fringe 2007, where he was nominated for the if.comedy prize for the best show, and his roadshow, complete with inappropriate records and bungled cues, is now a regular fixture on the live circuit.
At just twenty-one years old, Tom Lucy is one of the youngest comedians working professionally on the UK circuit. Tom’s first stand up gig was at the tender age of 16, he now performs regularly for some of the UK’s top clubs including The Glee Clubs, The Stand and this year became the youngest professional comedian to play weekends at London’s legendary Comedy Store
Tom has also been supporting the likes Jack Whitehall, Kevin Bridges and Michael McIntyre up and down the country and was also crowned Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2016.
2017 saw Tom perform his debut Edinburgh show Tom Lucy Needs to stop showing off in front of his friends! Which went onto to win the Sun’s best Newcomer of the Year. He also performed his debut TV stand up set on Comedy Centrals: Stand Up Central
Ian D Montfort
Ian D Montfort differs from ‘ordinary’ psychics who contact anonymous 17th Century serving wenches and the occasional Cherokee and Ian D Montfortspecialises in contacting dead celebs and Princess Di, Hitler,Elvis, Rod Hull and Emu are all likely to appear. An absolute smash hit of an act who has appeared at all the world’s best comedy festivals and a gathered an embarrassing amount of awards.
“A lot of people will pooh-pooh what I do-do,” says the Sunderland psychic Ian D Montfort. More fool them: Montfort’s extra-sensory seminar is both mind-boggling and one of the funniest shows on the Fringe.
For the past few years, Keith Farnan has toured internationally as a comedian, working in some of the best comedy clubs in the world, including the Comedy Store in London, the Laughter Lounge in Dublin and the Latter Club in Oslo.
