Centenary Day & National Gathering Tickets

An afternoon and evening of events in the style of the traditional EFDSS National Gatherings, to celebrate the Cantenary of the English Folk Dance Society.

The day starts with the AGM at 11am at which Jim Coleman will be presented with his Gold Badge.

The afternoon, for 1:30 to 5pm, will include a presentation of folk dance music recordings from the archives by Mike Wilson-Jones, a talk on the history of the English Folk Dance Society from Derek Schofield, and a series of reminiscences and discussion from a panel of distinguished EFDSS members.

The National Gathering in the evening, from 6:30pm in Kennedy Hall, will be a continuous programme of social dancing interspersed with displays of Cotswold and North West morris, longsword, rapper, traditional clog and Appalachian dance with guest appearances by Eliza Carty, Alistair Anderson, John  Kirkpatrik and Jim Coleman, Music will be provided by David Fleming-Williams and friends. Dance sides include Stone Monkey Rapper, Firestone Appalacian Youth Dance Team, Kettle Bridge Clogs, Handsworth Longsword, Hammersmith Morris and Camden Clog.
