As the multifaceted home of culture, music and arts in the north of England, Canal Mills have revealed a vast range of curated events throughout the autumn and winter welcoming the very best musical talent, artists, pop-up restaurants and craft brewers to the Leeds arts space. Priding itself on inspiring and evolving the creative output of the city, Canal Mills play host to the likes of Duke Dumont, Ten Walls, Scuba, Waze & Odyssey, Feel My Bicep and the long-awaited return of Nero's extraordinary live show, while London soundsystem Reggae Roast, mono_cult and Metropolis will all be holding very special parties within the mill.
Transformed from a disused textile mill of old in 2012, Canal Mills has gained the reputation as one of the north's most pioneering cultural spaces. In the two years since it's creation it has brought some of the best musicians and creative thinkers to Leeds, including performances by Jon Hopkins, Bonobo, Disclosure and Hudson Mohawke, plus a striking commission by Sheffield-based street artist Phlegm. Their Autumn/Winter '14 season will feature a series of specially curated events, covering everything from cutting edge and innovative music, to inspiring artists and food and drink celebrations that welcome some of the UK's best producers, brewers and distillers.
Canal Mills will kick off the season with a line-up of epic proportions that will see serial chart-topper Duke Dumont hit Leeds alongside Radio 1 stalwart B.Traits, Disclosure collaborator Friend Within and man of the moment Karma Kid. Later on in the season drum & bass maestros Nero will make their long-awaited return to Leeds as they bring their breathtaking live show to the mills for what will be an incredible and unforgettable performance. Ten Walls, having produced the hit of the summer in 'Walking With Elephants', will make this Halloween one to remember as he takes centre stage alongside Hotflush Recordings' Scuba, plus everybody's favourite DJ Jackmaster and the boys from Feel My Bicep. Innervisions founders Dixon and Âme will host a very special label showcase alongside Nordic disco don Prins Thomas, Glaswegian master selectors Optimo and the re-edit king Mark E.
