Bullets and Octane is a hard rock/punk band based in Southern California. The band members are: Vocals: Gene Louis; Guitar: Skye Vaughan-Jayne; Guitar: Jack Tankersley; Bass: Brent Clawson; Drums: Ty Smith.
This original line up has seen a number of changes over the years but this has not stopped Bullets and Octane recording an enticing catalogue of high energy songs with each record emitting a fresh raw felt attitude. In September 2011 a reunion show at the Viper Room cemented the ‘want’ for the original member line-up to return to form Bullets and Octane.
Bullets and Octane have toured with Avenged Sevenfold, Unwritten Law, Social Distortion, Eagles of Death Metal, Korn, Deftones, Bad Religion, the Knives, Stone Sour, Flogging Molly and Wednesday 13’s band Gunfire 76. The band has performed at Download Festival and has had 2 headline tours both in the UK and US.
Front man Gene Louis has a powerfully distinctive voice and a vocal range that front loads all songs with attitude, power and conviction. Each band member has brought to the table their own distinctive musical influences and together, they produce a dynamic, raw, hard-rock sound with fast and intense punk based beats. The end result is the harmonisation of powerful soaring vocals, tight drumming with heavy but smooth guitar rifts. The sound can only be described as a succinct hybrid of hard rock and punk that is distinctly Bullets and Octane.
The band’s album releases include: One Night Stand Rock n’Roll Band (2003), The Revelry (2004), In The Mouth Of The Young (2006), Song For the Underdog (2007), self titled album ‘Bullets and Octane’ (2009), Laughing In The Face of Failure (comprising ‘Song for the Underdog’ on disk 1 and the self titled album Bullets and Octane on disk 2 (2009).
