Let’s End Poverty is a diverse movement of over 50 organisations and 630 individuals that reflects an ongoing feeling across the country that what the government and opposition propose to tackle poverty simply is not good enough. Ahead of the next general election we are aiming to raise the profile of UK poverty both locally and nationally, pushing it up the political agenda. Through a range of programs, projects and events, we are elevating the voices of people with lived experiences of poverty, celebrating the work happening across the UK to tackle poverty on a daily basis and speaking truth to power.
Artists for Change is a growing strand within Let’s End Poverty, which supports musicians, artists, poets and people throughout the arts in finding creative ways to engage poverty in the UK. The arts can offer a powerful platform to challenge popular narratives about poverty and the institutions of power which uphold them, as well as celebrate stories and ongoing alternatives. In a social and economic landscape climate that all too often leaves us divided and isolated, the arts have a unique power to unite us. Strengthening community bonds and wider activist networks is essential as we can only tackle poverty and injustice at its roots collectively.
To officially launch our Artists for Change program, we are excited to announce our launch event at Band on the Wall, featuring Hannah Ashcroft, Matt Hill, and Lindsay Munroe, all local artists from the Manchester area. More bands will be announced soon.

Expect an evening of live music from some of Greater Manchester’s finest talents, as well as poetry, talks and stalls from groups and individuals on the frontline of poverty in Manchester.
