Round Chapel

Completed in 1871, the Round Chapel on Lower Clapton Road is a Grade II* listed building designed by Henry Fuller. Unusual for it's 'round' design and the use of internal cast iron supporting arches the former United Reformed Church was taken over by Hackney Historic Buildings Trust in 1991 in a derelict state. After many years of painstaking restoration work, the auditorium is now run by the Trust as an events space for performing arts, visual arts, markets and festivals and as a spectacular wedding venue. The trust also manages the Grade I listed St Augustine's Tower, the oldest building in Hackney and campaigns to rescue buildings of significance in the borough
