The Rise and Fall of Little Voice Tickets

With kind permission from Samuel French, Green Door Theatre Group presents its version of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice.

Green Door Theatre Group is a new amateur theatre company based in Colne. This is their first production and combines the power of comedy and drama, with the poignancy of musical performance through the title role of Little Voice.

The diminutive heroine frequently plunges the dilapidated house she shares with her alcoholic mother into darkness by playing her dead father's records at a volume matched only by the soulful power of her vocal impressions. Little Voice has a hidden talent: she can emulate every chanteuse from Judy Garland to Edith Piaf.

Jim Cartwright writes with enormous wit and a cutting slice of authenticity, bringing out the ugliness of relationships, as well as the most tender of moments.

Many of the cast are well-known to theatre-goers in Colne and beyond, however, there are also some newer faces.

The production is directed by one of Green Door’s founders, Gilly Grist, who writes as well as directs and performs in plays, and is extremely proud to be bringing this production to the Muni, as the theatre is perfect for the unusual staging of this production.
