In Edith Piaf’s centenary year, Bath Festival is proud to present the first performance in England of Piaf! The Show, starring Anne Carrere. It has toured the world collecting ecstatic reviews for Anne Carrere’s stunning performance of Piaf’s songs with a superb four-piece band (piano, accordion, double bass and percussion). Charles Dumont, the composer of Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien, Mon Dieu and dozens of Piaf’s songs, saw the show last year and said that it was “the best show ever made about the life of Edith Piaf”.
Piaf! The Show is packed full of great songs from Mon Legionnaire through Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien to La Vie en Rose and there’s a stunning backdrop of film from post-war Paris and unseen photographs from the life of Piaf. Best of all, there’s the joyous spirit of Anne Carrere, who says “I love all the songs because her hundreds of songs spoke in a universal language – Love! My favourite song of all is L’Hymne a L’Amour – for me, that’s a great moment in Piaf! The Show”
