Mirror Mirror Tickets

This production is a montage of texts that explore human obsessions with personal beauty and is threaded together by quotes from Katie Piper’s autobiography. As we see her personal story unravel, we are confronted by the superficiality, vanity and emptiness of the other characters.

We are introduced to Shakespeare’s Olivia, Viola, Helena and Hermia, characters from Dorian Gray, the myth of Narcissus and The Emperor's New Clothes.

The production culminates in a vogue ‘catwalk’ where the inner beauty of Katie Piper exposes the pursuit of beauty for what it is: shallow and meaningless.

At the end of Act One there is a physical, stylised representation of the ‘acid attack’ ....this is not designed to shock but rather to help the audience understand the metaphorical journey of Katie’s transformation into a ‘Swan’.
