WELSH BARITONE TO PLAY EXCLUSIVE NORTHERN SHOW, WITH A HOST OF SPECIAL GUESTS

Welsh Baritone Mark Llewelyn-Evans is heading to Southport's new venue, The Atkinson next month in a special one-off concert to a host of special guests and a limited public audience.

The concert, on Sunday 13th October will see Mark performing tracks from his lastest studio album, produced by Grammy Nominated and Seven-time Classical Brit-Award winner, Nick Patrick. The album, This Guy's in Love, was launched in July at a star studded concert at the Lyric Theatre in Carmarthen, hosted by Rob Brydon. The North of England date brings Mark's music and Welsh charm to a brand new audience. The evening promises to be a must-see for music lovers, with a whole array of songs performed in an intimate setting in the 400 seat venue.

Joining Mark for the concert are ‘Woman', a formidable world class singing group consisting of three female performers, all with an exceptional West-End pedigree, performing their own inspired arrangements of typically male songs. Having performed alongside Billy Ocean and at the Isle of Wight Festival, the trio promise to add something extra special to the evenings events. A further line-up of special guests will be announced over the coming weeks.

Speaking ahead of the concert, Mark said "This is my first chance to take the album outside of Wales, and I am really looking forward to this. We have a US tour planned for 2014 and some London dates coming up. As my management are from the North they suggested we play a date away from London, and welcome a new host of fans. I already have such a loyal following, so people will be coming from all over to see the concert, I am really excited to be playing this venue, which I understand has just undergone a massive renovation project."

The new album album has been recorded at Peter Gabriel's famous Real World Studios, which is favoured by artists such as Beyoncé, Take That and Kylie Minogue. The music has been arranged by one of the most established names in the record industry - Harvey Brough (formally of Harvey and the Wallbangers). Mark Llewelyn Evans says; "With much loved classics such as "Fields of Gold" and "This Guy's in Love With You" on the album, I've tried to interpret them in a way that offers the listener a new perspective of the music. Not only is this the first time that some of the songs have been recorded by a baritone but we've approached the music in new ways which explore the spectrum of emotions that we've all experienced with love."

Mark, originally from Carmarthen in West Wales has had a highly successful career in the world of Opera, working with the Royal Opera house, Welsh National Opera and English National Opera whilst receiving critical acclaim for many of his roles. He made his Hollywood debut in 2011 alongside Robert Downey Jnr, Jude Law & Stephen Fry in Guy Richie's Sherlock Holmes, in which Mark performed the role of the Don Giovanni.

Shortly after Mark released his internationally successful album Let the Light in which reached number 7 in the Classical Cross-over charts. He most recently worked alongside Michael Sheen, Jonathan Pryce, Ioan Gruffudd, Aled Jones and Paul Potts amongst many other famous names to record "A Miner's Song" in aid of the National Mining Memorial.
