Every area has a top boy – an influence that the local kids look toward as an inspiration, a source of power, a king. In the south London district of Kennington, that star is a nineteen-year-old MC called Loski. Loski broke out last year and gifted fans with the long-awaited and highly anticipated debut solo mixtape ‘Call Me Loose’.
Released off the mixtape are break out singles ‘Money & Beef’ and ‘Cool Kid’ and ‘Forrest Gump’ – tracks that quickly cemented Loski as the one to watch in London’s drill scene, each racking up over 4 million views. Loski’s ‘Call Me Loose’ project no doubt set the rapper apart from others and put Kennington and, by proxy, Loski on the map. Towards the back end of 2018, Loski featured on Asco’s ‘Cheque’, Steel Banglez’s ‘Hot Steppa’ as well as iLL BLU’s ‘Chop My Money’ alongside an all-star line up of Krept and Konan and Zie Zie, quickly following that up with the release of his catchy track ‘Calm Down’. Rich in terminology that can only come from an MC who has lived a life on road and emerged onto the other side, his music presents an honest artist who is looking forward and unafraid to level up.
With his ‘Mad Move’ mixtape set for release this March, shows and achievements on the horizon, 2019 is set to be a massive year for the South London rapper.
