Iron Knights are ready for war!

After the release of their new album ‘New Sound Of War’ in November 2012, Iron Knights are preparing for their New Tour Of War, which will see them play throughout the UK and venture once more into Europe.

The London-based traditional metal band will make their debut appearance at Hammerfest V this year and a number of other festivals are also confirmed.

The band’s live Missions attract increasing numbers of enthusiastic and loyal Legionnaires and word is spreading fast about this bloodthirsty band!

IRON KNIGHTS are:
Duke Fang Begley
Gravedigger Cox
Baron von Hammerstein
Bomber Beam
Count Carlos Montoya el Foxico

We care as much for human whims and politics as much as any predator cares for its prey’s faiths and beliefs. We dine on the fears of the mortal man, his horror so thick we drink it like the blood taken from his body. But even Vampires can fall. Where once we numbered many, now we are but five. So we continue to this day, embracing an age in which the world has witnessed carnage and conflict for unbroken decades. We are the Iron Knights.

A Selection of Recent Press Quotes:

“...frontman Duke Fang Begley is a proper showman…strong NWOBHM songs, full of tune, and with just the right blend of galloping bass, minor key leads and choruses…”

Metal Hammer, December 2012 (Live Review)

“’New Sound Of War’ easily earns the epithet of ‘Tales Of The Ost Part II’….charged with heroic NWOBHM eccentricity.”

[6/10] Metal Hammer, December 2012

“They possess the sound of ‘Powerslave’/’Piece Of Mind’-era Iron Maiden…opening cut ‘Jericho’ features powerful vocals, dueling guitars and is nowhere near short on melodies

[3/5] Terrorizer, November 2012

“This London-based outfit are heart and soul a fist-pumping, blood-burning heavy metal machine suckled at the teat of Lemmy and raised in the fire of Iron Maiden, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. In short they embody the power, confidence and precision of traditional heavy metal and those not strong enough to withstand the blast would be well advised to stand clear or, in the words of Moriarty, ‘be trampled underfoot’….New sound of war’ is a hugely enjoyable, head-banging thrill ride that will delight true metal fans from start to finish.”

Sonic Abuse, October 2012

“Instantly harking back to the old school style of metal, this opening track sets the tone for the album, showing that the guys haven’t lost any of their power and have in fact, continued to develop their sound since the last time we checked them out….From start to finish the guys have showcased the best of their abilities to create an album which is powerful, uplifting, distorted, and exciting.”

Loud-Stuff, October 2012

“Solid riffs, great melodic hooks, and anthemic choruses are the weapons of choice here, and while much of this will feel familiar to any old-school metalhead the unselfconscious enjoyment and energy the band have put into it keeps it sounding fresh and vibrant….. I was truly disappointed when this album ended, and I can’t praise any band more sincerely than that.”

[8.5/10] Destructive Music, October 2012

“Stuka Squadron are definitely a band to watch – they might just be the new wave of impeccable British heavy metal.”

[8.5/10] ThisIsNotAScene.com, August 2012

[7/10] Rock Hard, Germany, June 2012

“James Duke Fang Begley… hitting every glass shattering scream and gut wrenching growl with a theatrical ease – he really is already a rather accomplished frontman”.

Sea of Tranquility, May 2012 (Live Review)

"Stuka Squadron’s force of will is a rare cause in itself, mixing bright-eyed ambition and spit 'n' sawdust endeavour that for their devoted - and sure-to-grow - legion of fans verges on unabashed delirium."

Metal Hammer, May 2012 (Live Review)

"The sounds of air raid sirens, radio transmissions and conflict are combined with the sinister atmosphere of the undead as Stuka Squadron unleash a succession of rousing call to arms anthems complete with dueling guitars, screaming vocals and powerful hooks and melodies."

Sea of Tranquility: April 2012

“Songs like ‘Stuka Squadron’, ‘On the Volga Bridge’, and ‘A Cross of Iron’ really do illustrate some of the most exciting new UK Metal I’ve heard in a long time, with brutal riffs being mixed with clever motifs and top notch arrangements.”

Fireworks, February 2012

‘On the Volga Bridge’ features in Classic Rock’s Songs of The Year 2011

Classic Rock, January 2012

“...metal moments that will stay with you for years to come. Rooted in the classics but looking hungrily to the future, ‘Tales of the Ost is a major Metal achievement’.

Zero Tolerance, September 2011

“...audacious, high concept image... deployed with obsessive zeal and an infections true metallic rampage... [a] rollicking good time..."

[8/10] Metal Hammer, August 2011

“....Stuka Squadron are the true masters of the art of war...”

Terrorizer, August 2011

“...this is a band that has it all...”

[8/10] Powerplay, August 2011

“...might just be one of the pure metal releases of the year...”

[8/10] Classic Rock (Geoff Barton), July 2011
