Bournemouth GaSP is delighted to bring a smile to the face and a melody to the lips, with songs from musical theatre and the Savoy operas. The show has a theme of love in all its forms, nostalgia and laughter, with lighthearted songs for everyone to enjoy. What better anthem for every kind of love than ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’, the show-stopper from Carousel? Another block-buster is the lively ‘Get Me to the Church on Time’ from My Fair Lady, whilst we toast the music of Gigi with ‘The Night they Invented Champagne.’ From Cats, the haunting song ‘Memory’ gives a wistful look back to happy times, whilst – from Me and My Girl – a likely lad is ‘Leaning on A Lamp Post’ watching the world go by. The Gondoliers brings Italian sunshine to ‘When a Merry Maiden Marries’ and The Mikado showcases a young bride in ‘Three Little Maids from School are we’. Pirates of Penzance brings much laughter with those cowardly policemen, plus brigands who would rather capture the local girls than run away from the constabulary. A Judge with an eye for pretty bridesmaids and lots of merriment feature in Trial by Jury – another G&S favourite. With solos, duets, trios and choruses, this talented group will entertain and amuse you so don’t miss ‘For the Love of Music.’
