THE SMYTHS present THE SMITHS 35
A celebration of the debut album
(With hits & more)

Released on February 20 1984, The Smiths is the debut album by the legendary British band The Smiths. Featuring the classic, breakthrough singles “Hand In Glove” & ‘What Difference Does It Make” (“This Charming Man” did not feature on the original release- later added), the album immediately caused tabloid fury with it’s songs discussing child abuse (“The Hand That Rocks The Cradle” and infamously the Moors Murders (“Suffer Little Children”). Those subjects are of course dealt with beautifully both in terms of lyrical content and musical worth. The album established The Smiths as the pre-eminent independent band of that time, a band unafraid to tackle taboo subjects in a sensitive way and has since gone on to feature in Rolling Stone Magazine’s 100 Best Debut Albums of All Time.

The Smyths will perform a 2 set show in which all of the album’s tracks will be performed alongside a selection of other classic hits and album’s tracks.
