Two female actors desperate for Fame and slaving in a Diner, try and hi-jack an audition being held in their bar - by any means possible.
Even if this means employing a Russian, Lesbian taxi driver to seduce and 'redirect' their Sloaney RADA competition to a lowlife bordello in a sleazy part of the former Soviet Union.
This desperate kidnap plot is hindered by a megalomaniac Hollywood movie director (who really knows where a few bodies are buried), a dangerously unsafe Health and Safety Inspector, and a madly ambitious Essex Soap Queen who wants to open a chain of luxury Eyeliner and Nail Bars in Afghanistan.
Plus other equally unhinged characters.
They're all entirely out for themselves,out of their heads and frequently out of their clothes - which doesn't matter, as someone else will put them on as quickly as they fall off.
'Boxing With Dame Judi Dench' is a classic 100mph farce, packed with deadly one-liners and cracking knockabout physical comedy.
Which is why we're called The Knockabout Theatre Company !
Although Dame Judi Dench isn't boxing in our play, being a True Star and a supporter of new drama talent, she has happpily let us feature her name in our title.
What more can we say ?
Except come and be hugely entertained - for not much money !
