This is a 11 piece band that covers tunes from every part of Brasil. We are formed by a three piece horn section, guitar, keys, drums, bass, three percussionists and a singer. Through our performances, we showcase every corner of the country, performing samba, forró, axé, pagode, funk and many others, introducing the rich cultural heritage of brazilian music to the UK.
The band started beginning of 2021 and since then have played gigs at big venues such as Brudenell Social Club and Belgrave Music Hall in Leeds; sold out shows at The Blues Kitchen in Manchester for carnival 2022 and Hyde Park Book Club in october 2023.
Alongside the sold out show in Blues Kitchen, the band got a participation on Jazz Fm show Jazz Travels to promote the gig.
Band leader Gustavo Andrade, hailing from São Paulo, Brasil, curates and arranges the songs. His selections draw from his personal background and are influenced by artists who have had a profound impact on him.
