We have spent time trying to make the paths of our woodland accessible, but by nature of a woodland there are undulations and resulting inclines which could test the capability of manual mobility aids i.e. manual wheelchairs especially for adult users. An attendant would be advised to assist when necessary.
It maybe slightly easier for children with an attendant present.
Powered mobility aids would definitely make lighter work of the woodland paths and we would advise equipment with no less than 5” ground clearance and 8” – 10” rear wheels. An attendant would still be advised as our assessment was done during fine, dry weather.
Please note, there is no disabled hoisting available for transfers.
If you are thinking of making a booking but are unsure about the level of your disability and usage of equipment please do not hesitate to email us directly – firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do all we can to advise you.
Our accessibility assessment has been carried out by Moorings Mediquip Ltd.
