Intermediate Strings is an ensemble run by Alison Lansdown and Penny Mercer as part of Trafford Music Service Youth Orchestras. The ensemble comprises of over 40 young string players between the ages of 7 and 13, including violinists, viola players and cellists, mostly from Trafford Schools.
The majority of the ensemble members learn their instruments with teachers from Trafford Music Service. They perform termly at venues such as the Stoller Hall (Chetham’s School of Music) and are delighted to be back on stage performing after several months of Zoom sessions during lockdown!
Trafford Music Service is extremely proud of this vibrant young ensemble which has grown enormously in size over the last year. New string players of around grade 2-4 level are always welcome to join us!
We will also be welcoming a number of Trafford students to perform solo pieces on their instruments demonstrating a range of instruments and showing off the incredible talent of Trafford students.
