    Those Two Weeks

    Those Two Weeks

Those Two Weeks isn’t a play about Hillsborough. It’s a play about before. It’s a play about the last time life was normal, and just how hard normal can be.

It starts on the 1st of April 1989 and ends on the night of the 14th, and it’s the story of two weeks in the life of one very normal Liverpool family. Joe’s looking at Uni and moving in with the girlfriend he thinks his family don’t know about, Peter has an ambition that seems at odds with his current lifestyle and Jacqui’s pregnant to the boyfriend she’s just dumped. Dave and Terri have no idea what’s happening in their family and finding out will see old issues resurface in their marriage. Sometimes all it takes is one wrong word for everything to fall apart.

Those Two Weeks is written by the Hope Playwriting Prize Highly Commended Award recipient, Ian Salmon (The Comeback Special, Venus Rising, Half The Sky) and is directed by Naughty Corner Productions’ Mike Dickinson (Bob The Russian, Not The Horse, Church Blitz).

The play performed to sold out houses and multiple five star reviews at Unity Theatre in early 2018 and now appears at The Epstein Theatre for five performances.

“It’s impossible not to be impressed by the extraordinarily well observed dialogue; there’s an almost musical flow to the writing.” Nigel Smith goodnewsliverpool.co.uk

“Superbly written, outstandingly observed and beautifully acted.” Ian D. Hall liverpoolsoundandvision.co.uk

“There was a true and warm naturality in the way (the actors) treated Salmon’s wonderful script. The dynamics of the script, the tension and expectation, and its fond, humorous depictions of family life, were perfectly handled by this skilled and richly talented cast.” Paul Fitzgerald liverpooletc.com
