Join us as we host our very first folk festival here at St Mary’s Chambers.
Showcasing some of the best local bands and acts from across East Lancashire playing all things Folk with the addition of Roots, Blues, World Music and Americana.
The jam packed line up will feature The Difference, Maelor Hughes, The Slydes, Wand’rin Star and The Folkestra.
The Difference - Are an acoustic Rossendale based duo featuring popular, local musicians Eoin Kelly and Kayleigh Hall.
Maelor Hughes - Is an Accrington based Modern folk musician who guests as regular support to the Levellers. Maelor has also supported Seth Lakeman, Will Varley,The Wonder Stuff, Dan Donnelly, Ocean Colour Scene, The South, Ian Prowse, Dreadzone, Merry Hell, 3 Daft Monkeys, Reverend and the Makers, Ferocious Dog and Gaz Brookfield. He delivers an energetic twist on traditional folk, blending melodic riffs with upbeat folk.
The Slydes - The Blackburn based troubadours blend aspects of traditional blues, folk, classic rock and jazz mixed with the melancholy and wistful remembrance of simpler times and the lost golden age of music.
Wand'rin’ Star - Are a Rossendale based musical collective. Think Delta blues meets Dylan with 60s soul, blues rock, 70s funk, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms. Throw in electronic music, roots, reggae, folk and country. Since their inception the band have taken the live circuit by storm with various appearances at festivals and popular live music venues across the North West.
The Folkestra - Are a foot stomping, punk driven, folk, six piece, hailing from Colne. Mixing traditional instrumentation with a modern twist, The Folkestra are perfect festival headliners and we can’t wait for their lightning set of covers delivered in their very own unique style and some of their exhilarating and uplifting original material, which we defy you not to dance to.
The bar will be well stocked for the duration and hot food will also be on sale.
