“Seriously Dead”
A BRAND NEW MUSICAL COMEDY PLAY

Written by Leah Bell and Crissy Rock, this musical comedy play about a deceased bank robber, a café owner and a lovesick ghost had the audience in hysterics from the very beginning until the very end. (THENANTWICHNEWS.CO.UK)

“Seriously Dead” is an up-lifting tale guaranteed to make you feel that even when your numbers up - life’s party never ends - It simply moves to another location.

THE PLOT!
Thelma Henderson arrives at The Pearly Gates only to be told that she cannot get in as everyone has a number for entry and she has arrived ahead of schedule so her number is not up! Well not yet anyway!!! She is also informed that as the entry system has now gone digital, there would be no way to simply “let her in without the correct paperwork!”

She must go and wait at the nearest “pick-up point” which is the scrap yard gates near the café of her childhood sweetheart and unrequited love, Billy Blenkinsopp!

While patiently waiting for her number to come up, Thelma learns that Billy regrets not telling her how he felt about her when he had the chance!

A chain of riotously funny events is set in motion which brings the lives of Betty, Albert, Billy and the flamboyant undertaker Tristan de Winter to an uncomfortable crossroads. Their lives become inextricably linked on a path leading them all towards the newly digitalised Pearly Gates.

Quotes from the press:
“Seriously Dead” is a thoroughly cheering and entertaining night out and the audience loved it – this show does exactly what it says in the publicity!

“If that’s what it’s like when you get to the Pearly Gates – then I can’t wait for the party to start!!!!”

See our Facebook page “Seriously Dead” for more reaction to this brilliant new play.

THE CAST:
CRISSY ROCK gives and excellent performance as the bereaved but hard-hearted Betty and plays the sex bomb to the hilt as a “tart without a heart!”

FRAZER HINES is thoroughly charming as scurrilous bank robber Albert Blunderstone and sings the title song “Seriously Dead” with tremendous aplomb.

BILLY PEARCE is great fun as the hapless Billy Blenkinsopp and brings a touching sincerity to the role: Coupled with spot on comedy timing it is easy to see why Billy is a British Comedy Award Winner.
LEAH BELL is hilarious as the disgruntled little angel in love with Billy, her childhood sweetheart and Billy and Thelma’s duet “Loving You” is one of the high lights of the evening.

PAUL DUNN – plays the Flamboyant Undertaker Tristan de Winter with such tongue in cheek sympathy, it is hard not to laugh at the most inappropriate of times.

ANDREW DAWSON – pops up throughout the play in various guises, each one played with dignity and gravitas – even when portraying the deceased Edna Blunderstone complaining about her own funeral arrangements and assisting with the movement of her own coffin!
