Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be. September in the Rain tells the story of Jack and Liz and their annual soggy week in Blackpool. Spanning 30 years of holidays, they take us on a journey with them as we leap back and forward in time. We see them squabble and bicker, and we see their love. We see them as newlyweds in 1950 and, on probably their last trip, as doddery OAPs. A delightful play that conjures up images of summer holidays by the British coast, when it’s sunny only on arrival and departure day.
