SALAD IS BACK ON THE MENU...

They toured with BLUR in 1993

They notched up hit album DRINK ME in 1995, featuring Drink the Elixir and Motorbike to Heaven.

SALAD were part of the ‘Girl Fronted Indie Band’ movement...alongside SLEEPER, ECHOBELLY and ELASTICA, with the core of their fan base still riding strong 20 years on.

After second Album ‘ICE CREAM in 1997, they went into a state of dormancy in Oct 1998.

And so SALAD were absolutely delighted to have been asked to play Renowned Indie Festival, INDIE DAZE 4 in Oct 2017. This was officially their first show as the whole band since 1998.....

Marijne, Paul, Pete and Charley are on board, but this time round, they welcome new fierce drummer boy Donald Ross Skinner, whom many of you may know from his tenure with Julian Cope (as guitarist). Rob ex-Salad drummer is still firmly in the fold as a songwriter and website designer.

While SALAD got their act together for the re-union, 2016 and 2017 saw Paul and Marijne as SALAD UNDRESSED booked for semi acoustic live shows, most notably the BRIT POP Nostalgia STARSHAPED tour this summer, reuniting with SLEEPER and THE BLUETONES....SALAD UNDRESSED are also recording an Album called “GOOD LOVE BAD LOVE”, with a PLEDGEMUSIC Campaign already up and running. Set for release Feb 2018.

Also included in the PLEDGEMUSIC campaign, the release of SALAD tracks never heard before, originally destined for a third album in 1998/9, that sadly never saw the light of day. This they are calling THE LOST ALBUM, and will be released November 2017.

SALAD will be playing live dates on Mainland Europe in the first half of 2018! Watch this space...

More Quotes about SALAD, from then and now.

Ian Gittins (Melody Maker) Live Gig Review in 1993...“Salad’s Rock-sorcery is turbulent, vexed, sardonic, and impacts like Semtex in your long johns.”

Penny Kiley (Melody Maker) Live Gig Review in 1995...“A band full of light and shade, threats and whispers, pop tunes and dark moods. Above the bounce-along melodies there are strange little things going on. Some you can hear, some are just happening in your imagination as you try to make sense of the words.” -

And more recently in 2017 from a fan on YouTube...“Drink the Elixir sounded really great on BBC 6 Music on Mark and Stuart's show. At first I thought it was a new band and was thinking: at last a track to get excited about! But no, it was Salad and it was from 1995!!”
