Smashing the stylistic boundaries between jazz, hip-hop, funk and drum and bass, pianist extraordinaire Robert Glasper is reshaping the lexicon of jazz like few others today. Drawing influence from the late great hip-hop producer J Dilla’s deconstructed dancefloor beats, whilst retaining an innate sense of melody and swing, Glasper has excited hip-hop fans, rappers Mos Def and Kanye West, and jazz aficionados alike. He’s back in London once again for a thrilling performance with his electronic outfit, The Experiment.
“The music is top drawer, playfully experimental and oozing confidence.” Financial Times
