    Rattle of a Simple Man

    Rattle of a Simple Man

The play was first produced in 1962 with Edward Woodward and Sheila Hancock in the lead roles. It tells the story of two social misfits. The protagonists are, Percy, a forty year old virgin who has come down to London from Manchester with his mates to a football match, and Cyrenne, a world weary London streetwalker.  The play is very funny, but with sad undertones as the protagonists struggle to make sense of their lives, and reach out for comfort.
