2005 Mercury Music Prize Best Album nominees Polar Bear are an avant jazz quintet led by enigmatic drummer Seb Rochford. They are part of a long tradition of drummer-led bands stretching back through Chick Webb to Art Blakey.
Collaborations with Joanna McGregor, Adele, Brian Eno, David Byrne, Patti Smith and Yoko Ono have brought Roachford, and his unique jazz vision, fans from every music genre.
