The Pendle Young Musicians Bursary was set up in 2012 to give young musicians a chance of gaining substantial funding to help them continue their musical studies. The Bursary is going into its fifth competition and in 2020 the prize fund available will be £18,500. This concert showcases selected competitors giving their first PYMB live performance before an audience and a panel of judges. This year the Bursary has received entries from many disciplines and genres and from a wide catchment area, whilst still encouraging the local musicians that are at the core of the Bursary’s foundation.
The Grand Final is the final adjudication stage being undertaken by the young musicians who have successfully gained a place to compete for a share of the £18,500 prize money. Each finalist will perform for 20 minutes and the winners will be announced at the end of the concert.
