Internationally acclaimed Classical Chart topper Christina Johnston who has sung all over the world will be bringing the sound of the movies to you.
A Night at the Movies will feature songs from movies like The Greatest Showman to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Despite her young age Christina has addressed audiences all over the U.K., Europe,
Asia and South America.
She was accepted with scholarship when she was just 18 to The Guildhall School of
Music and Drama in London.
She regularly sings with various conductors and orchestras all over Europe and has
sung on numerous solo tours with orchestra around Czech Republic, Slovakia, China
and South America.
At the tender age of 22 she made her Operatic debut at The State Opera, Prague as
The Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Adele in Strauss’s Die
Fledermaus and sang in over 3 seasons as these roles.
Since then she has performed at Kazan Opera House, Russia as Olympia from Les
Contes D’Hoffmann by Offenbach, sung on tour in Germany, Switzerland and
Austria as The Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte.
She premiered in the production of Puccini’s Tosca conducted by Italian conductor,
Walter Attanasi and has sung 4 seasons as Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at The
Estates Theatre in Prague.
Christina sung the role of Katerina Cavellieri in the first production of Amadeus
staged for actors, orchestra, chorus and coloratura soprano in The Estates Theatre,
Prague in 2017/18.
She has sung the role of Olympia from Les Contes D’Hoffmann by Offenbach on
tour in Germany and Austria.
On numerous occasions she has sung for various Heads of State, most notably
regularly singing for the President of the Czech Republic, President of the People’
s Republic of China and various Presidents of EU Countries.
She was also invited by the Chinese President to China to sing for the 70 year
celebrations of the end of World War II.
She was chosen by the Ambassador of Israel to sing in Hebrew in Prague’s famous St
Vitus Cathedral for the Day of Jerusalem which was broadcast live to the Mayor of
Jerusalem.
Christina has sung for many film and games scores including for Czech composer,
Robert Jiša, most recently being the Czech film “Století Miroslava Zikmunda” and
“Aldabra 3D” and in 2017 was chosen to record her voice for the lead actress for
British film “Interlude in Prague” about Mozart. She has also sung on the score for
the 2017 Korean Film “The Battleship Island”.
She is a regular soloist of The Prague Film Music Festival held in the famous
Rudolfinum Concert Hall and Forum Theatre in Prague. She has sung in the festival
for various composers including, Joe Hisaishi (Japanese film composer), James
Horner, Patrick Doyle, Craig Armstrong, Elliot Goldenthal and Michael
Giacchino.
She regularly collaborates with various other artists including DJ and Trance Artist,
Driftmoon and famous Czech Boy’s Choir, Boni Pueri.
She released her debut CD in September 2017 with The City of Prague
Philharmonic Orchestra, and her Christmas EP with Matthew Sheeran was released
December 2017.
