The Great Northern SKA Festival 2017 May Press Release

After the great success of last year’s event it gives us great pleasure to bring you this year’s instalment of the GNSKA Festival which will again take place on August 19th at Bowlers Exhibition Centre, Longbridge Road, Trafford Park, Manchester, M17 1SN. Last year we attracted 3000 visitors and this year’s event looks set to be even bigger.

A festival bringing you live entertainment & music, food & drink courts, merchandise stalls, entertainers, funfairs, SKA TV, and thousands of like minded people. The event is a meeting ground for people young and old to get together and celebrate our love of SKA music. Opening times this year will be 1pm-1am.

We have been working hard since the last event to confirm this year’s line up and what a line up we have. Headlining the event we have several high profile bands.

Flying in from Jamaica we have one of the original SKA bands from the 1960’s “The Skatallites”. The most requested band “Bad Manners” will also headline, alongside “Brinsley Frode” founding member of the legendary reggae band Aswad.

For all you mods out there and for a little variety we have added Bruce Foxton’s “From The Jam”, while “Rhoda Dakar” sings Bodysnatchers, and “King Hammond” will also be in situe with his Rudeboy Mafia.

Leading Manchester’s finest we have Lee Hollister’s Manchester SKA Foundation, alongside the very talented Jeramiah Ferrari, and Mancheska.

The weird and wonderful “Baked A La SKA” return for a second year, alongside Scotland’s Esperanza and the pope from Stoke Phil Eccleston AKA The “Skafather”.
