In an era where tracks are produced by committee's and honed by focus groups, NOTHING BUT THIEVES are a rare beast indeed – a band with the talent, integrity and vision to create heartbreakingly beautiful music entirely on their own terms.
NOTHING BUT THIEVES’ origins lie in schoolmates Conor (vocals), Joe (guitar) and Dave’s (drums) efforts in a variety of bands in their hometown of Southend, Essex.
Inspired by artists as diverse as Ray Charles and Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire, they gained valuable experience on the local live circuit, even if they weren’t going to change the world.
That these boys are writing material of such maturity and sophistication while barely out of their teens is astonishing. That they’re doing it all outside the traditional music business framework is even more impressive still.
Singles from ‘Nothing But Thieves’ have gained multiple playlist additions across Radio X, Kerrang! and BBC Radio 1 - where the band also bagged Hottest Record In The World and Track Of The Day accolades, as well as playing as part of their Live Lounge Month in September. Nothing But Thieves have had a whirlwind year, touring across the world and playing a multitude of international festivals, including Summersonic in Japan and the main support slot at Muse’s Rock In Rome show to a sold out stadium of over 35,000 fans, as well as delivering jubilant sets at Reading and Leeds Festivals. 2015 has seen Nothing But Thieves begin to carve out their niche in the UK rock scene and 2016 will see them emerge as an important and formidable force.
