Legends of the Tenor Saxophone.
Jazz music has been steadily evolving for the last 100 years. Tonight, Mike and his quartet will be illustrating the development of the style of the significant players of the tenor saxophone; playing their tunes, telling a few stories and even recreating the musical characteristics of their performance. Fun, entertaining and educational; something for everyone!
Mike Hall is a freelance jazz saxophonist who regularly works with Andy Scott’s Group S, The Echoes of Ellington Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Halle Orchestras. He is Head of Jazz Studies at RNCM where he directs the RNCM big band.
