Mayor's Christmas Do Tickets

The Mayor of Pendle is inviting senior citizens from across the borough to his annual festive gathering.

Councillor David Whalley is hosting his Christmas ‘do’ at The ACE Centre in Nelson this year and he would like as many of the borough’s pensioners to join him.

The Mayor’s Christmas Do will be held on Monday and Tuesday, December 4th and 5th and include a delicious Afternoon Tea and a variety of entertainment.

The line-up includes female duo Vintage Pearls, musician and comedian Jeff Stewart, magician Brian Sefton and vocalist and comedian Clare Louise. Popular Pendle entertainer, Glen South, will be the compere for the afternoon.

There will also be a raffle, with all proceeds going to the Mayor’s charity.

Councillor Whalley said: “Christmas is a wonderful time to get together to toast the festive season and share some fabulous food and great entertainment.

“The Mayoress and I are looking forward to hosting these festive afternoons and sharing the Christmas spirit with our older Pendle residents. I expect they will be just as popular as they have been in previous years, and would urge anyone who’d like to come along to get their tickets as soon as possible.”

Event organiser, Julie Hibbert, added: “We are doing things a little differently this year, with a different venue, different food and different entertainment, but I’m sure it will all add up to just as good an experience as always.”

Tickets, costing £8, are now on sale and available from The ACE Centre, Cross Street, Nelson. For Pendle Senior Citizens Only.
