This year Matt Maltese has firmly established himself as a voice of a new generation of socially conscious and politically motivated artists hailing from the vibrant South London scene which includes Shame, HMLTD and Goat Girl to name but a few. 21 year-old Matt Maltese’s 2017 single ‘As The World Caves In’ - imagining a fantasy in which Theresa May and Donald Trump make love after triggering nuclear apocalypse - caught the attention of The FADER, The Guardian, Interview Magazine, NME, DIY, The Line Of Best Fit and a score of other tastemaker titles both online and in print.
Matt took to the road shortly after the release of ‘As The World Caves In’, with co-headline dates alongside The Rhythm Method sandwiched between support slots with The Walkmen’s Hamilton Leithauser and The Maccabees on the regional leg of their huge farewell shows. Today sees the announcement of his first full U.K. headline run beginning on 7 November in Leeds and taking in Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton and Bristol, winding up with Matt’s biggest London show thus far at Moth Club on 13 November. The shows will see Matt accompanied by a fully fleshed out live band, adding even more gravitas to his already enrapturing performances.
