Mary Chapin Carpenter, the five-time Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and 2012 Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, will be returning to the UK to perform a selection of exclusive summer shows.
Mary Chapin Carpenter’s last release in 2014, Songs From the Movie' was the country soft-rocker’s first foray into orchestral music. It was recorded at the legendary AIR Studios in London with a 63-piece group backing her up. Conducted and arranged by Grammy Award winning producer Vince Mendoza.
Carpenter has sold more than 13 million albums since releasing her debut album 'Hometown Girl'nearly 30 years ago in 1987. She is the only artist to have won the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance four consecutive years. To date, Carpenter’s albums have garnered five Grammy Awards (with 15 nominations), two Country Music Association Awards and two Academy of Country Music Awards. She has also earned two Country Music Association Awards for Female Vocalist of the Year.
Her traditional approach to song-crafting transcends contemporary country and Americana, and has made her one of the most recognizable artists of our time.
