Manchester Science Festival Tickets

A fascinating earsight into how singing works, from beatboxing to falsetto and the way your brain processes sound.

Ever wondered how a beatboxer imitates a full drum kit? Or why some singers are low and husky while others are bright and falsetto? Prepare to be mesmerised as acoustics maestro Professor Trevor Cox and singers from the Royal Northern College of Music give you a fascinating earsight into how it all really works. No singer can reach those notes on an empty stomach, so we’ll also be pitching pizza and drinks to keep your voice sounding smooth and stop your belly from beatboxing too.
