Skipinnish - Saturday 4th July 2020

Skipinnish are to return to Inverness in 2020 to headline the Big Top Tent in Bught Park on Saturday 4 July 2020.

Today’s announcement follows the massive success of the band’s 20th anniversary show in Inverness in July, where they performed to over 4,500 fans.

LCC Live is bringing the Scottish Celtic band back to Inverness, for the first of two major shows for the band next year. For their Inverness show, Skipinnish will be joined by special guests including the renowned Scottish rock band, Big Country and Peat & Diesel, the up and coming band from Stornoway. Gates open at 3pm.

Formed in 1999, the last few years have seen Skipinnish rocket to the very top of the Celtic music scene and their mix of chart-topping songs and powering tune sets is continuing to attract new fans at an astounding rate. Their Inverness gig last year, was their biggest to date, and as their popularity continues to grow, Skipinnishhave committed to return to Inverness to headline the Saturday night in the Big Top Tent.

Band co-founder, Angus MacPhail, said:

“We had such an amazing show in Inverness in July. Performing a concert of that size in the Highland capital was a dream come true. We can’t wait to return, and this time headline the Saturday night in the Big Top at Bught Park. Come and join us and sing your hearts out and go wild!”

This is the first (of many!) music events for 2020 to be confirmed by LCC Live, the biggest producer of live music events in Inverness and the North of Scotland.

Carlie Davidson of LCC Live, said:

“We had such a great weekend of live music in the Big Top Tent last year, that we’re delighted to be bringing it back in 2020.

Skipinnish were out of this world when they performed this summer, and their fans had the most amazing night. We’re looking forward to welcoming Big Country and Peat & Diesel too – we’re planning a great summer of live music!”

McFly - Sunday 5th July 2020

McFly have announced they’re coming to Inverness for a one-off summer show.

Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones and Harry Judd will headline the Big Top Tent in Inverness’ Bught Park on Sunday 5th July 2020.

The announcement comes ahead of McFly’s comeback show at London’s O2 later this month, which sold out in just minutes. In April 2020, the band is back on the road touring, and come July they will be performing in Inverness.

With seven UK number-one singles, five top-ten albums, six sell-out tours and ten million records sold worldwide, McFly are without question one of the most significant British pop acts of the twenty-first century. Since hitting the big time as the youngest band ever to have a debut album go straight to number one — beating The Beatles’ long-standing record — Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry have become one of our best-loved bands, not to mention major stars in their own right.

They will play their best-loved mega-hits such as All About YouObviouslyStar GirlOne for the Radio and Shine a Light. They will perform the cream of The Lost Songs originally intended for Album 6 and showcase their amazing musicianship, showmanship and humour. And, knowing the guys, there might well be a surprise or two along the way…

LCC Live, the biggest producer of live music events in Inverness and the North of Scotland, is bringing McFly to Inverness, as part as its Live in the City series of music events. Director, Claire Kidger, commented:

“This is another coup for us, confirming McFly, one of the greatest bands of their generation, to perform in the Highlands. The show will be in the Big Top Tent at Bught Park, which proved a popular venue last year, and means everyone can enjoy the show, no matter the weather!

“Come along and join us and give McFly the welcome they deserve.”

Deacon Blue also announce a new album, CITY OF LOVE, which sees the multi-million selling band deliver eleven brilliant new tracks tethered by a singular belief - that even in the corners of a town or a life where no light falls, hope can prevail. Supported by a huge tour, the band will be coming to Inverness in October 2020.

Ricky Ross said:

"We're so looking forward to you hearing City of Love and getting out on the road, playing new songs and old songs too. Every time we tour it feels like a celebration because our fans are still there and it's a delight for us. We're planning to make this the best one yet.”
