Explore and extend band percussion and drum skills, styles and techniques across a variety of pop formats with acclaimed drummer and percussionist Lea Mullen. Using a multitude of hand and stick drums, hand percussion and a panoply of instruments collected from all around the world Lea will introduce rhythms from a wide variety of traditional cultures and demonstrate how they can be brought into modern popular musical settings.
The course will also introduce ways to use hybrid percussion and drum kits to suit all kinds of acoustic small scale performance settings.
With active hands-on coaching throughout, this 8-week course ends with an informal shared opportunity to play with a full band on stage at Band on the Wall.
