Formed in September 2012, the band wasted no time embarking on a highly successful UK and Irish tour, based solely on the success of their debut single ‘Stone Cold Killer’, which racked up an impressive 27,000 views on YouTube and helped the likely lads spread their infectious Indie-infused hard rock to new ears.
The quartet also succeeded in winning over press in Northern Ireland, where the majority of the band’s members hail from. Following a mass of sold out shows in their hometown of Newry, the crew at BBC ATL gave ‘Stone Cold Killer’ a suitable airing and heralded them as the hometown heroes they were quickly becoming.
Now, armed with their debut EP and a stunning collection of material; King Kartel are eyeing up the rest of the world with plans for domination on a global scale. Sporting both artistic integrity and honesty with a firm understanding for pop sensibilities, do not be surprised if you hear a lot more from King Kartel in the coming months.
As one journalist has already stated, “King Kartel take their music to build bridges from the old and carry to the new.” That they do, indeed.
