There’s a confidence to KEYSIDE that belies their brief history, evident in their infectious, lyrically rich guitar pop. Frontman Dan Parker’s unmistakable Liverpool lilt brings a sweeping emotional range to their songs, moving effortlessly from yearning to joy to vulnerability. Their sound, rooted in classic influences yet entirely their own, combines melodic uplift with a deeper emotional and social consciousness, as Parker crafts stories of everyday people navigating real-world complexities and hope for redemption.
KEYSIDE’s origins trace back to Parker’s own journey—music offered him solace through turbulent teenage years, and his songwriting soon developed a timeless quality. A chance encounter with lead guitarist Ben Cassidy at a local party led to the formation of the band, later joined by Max Gibson (bass) and Oisin McAvoy (drums). In just two years, the quartet has forged a distinct identity, with standout tracks like “Angeline,” “Nikita,” and “Turn Back The Time,” earning praise from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and Radio X, as well as selling out headline shows in Liverpool and Manchester.
Now signed to Liverpool’s Modern Sky UK label, KEYSIDE is poised for a breakthrough with their latest single “Runaway” and an upcoming second EP produced by Chris Taylor (The Coral, Blossoms). Their new material showcases the band’s ambition and depth, drawing comparisons to The Smiths, The La’s, and The Stone Roses, while affirming their place as a rising force in the modern indie landscape—still only scratching the surface of their promise.
